The Playground
A complete guide to the Playground — writing prompts, using the AI coach, and understanding your score.
The Playground is where learning becomes doing. Write any prompt, then use the AI coach to score it, improve it, or turn it into a practice exercise.
Finding the Playground
Click 🧪 Playground in the top navigation, or use the direct link at the bottom of any module to jump there with that module's starter prompt pre-loaded.
The three-step flow
- Pick a module (optional) — the dropdown at the top loads a starter prompt for that module's topic.
- Write your prompt — type what you want the AI to do. See the live quality meter update as you type.
- Choose a coach action — Score, Improve, Practice, or Quiz.
The four coach actions
Score
Rates your prompt 1–5 on clarity, specificity, context, format, and safety. Shows a checklist of what's working and what isn't.
Improve
Rewrites your prompt to be clearer, more specific, and more likely to get a great answer. Shows a before/after comparison.
Practice
Generates a question about the selected module — test your understanding without looking at the quiz.
Quiz
Pulls a module quiz question into the playground. Combines practice with the scored quiz experience.
The live quality meter
The thin bar just below your text area updates as you type (with a short debounce). It shows:
- 🔴 Weak — vague or too short
- 🟡 Developing — some structure but missing key elements
- 🟢 Strong — clear, specific, and well-formed
This uses the same scoring logic as the Score button — just faster and without showing the full breakdown.
Paste an AI response (for Score)
Expand the + Compare an AI response panel and paste what your AI actually returned. When you then click Score, the coach checks whether the response actually matched your prompt's intent — a more complete evaluation.
